Rep Definition
What Is A Rep?

Moving a weight through a range of motion and then back again one time, short for repetition. For instance, if you were doing bicep curls, and you selected a weight of about 30 lbs, you might perform the set with about 10 to 15 repetitions.

Repetitions are very important and should be performed very slowly so that you don't injure yourself. Doing too many reps will defeat your purpose and cause your muscles to work too hard. So a good target rep for small body parts is around 10 to 15 reps. For larger muscles, this target can be anywhere from 5 to 10, depending upon the weight you use. Of course, the heavier the weight, the fewer reps you will be able to perform.
