Compound K (CK) is a final metabolite of panaxadiol ginsenosides. Essential in muscle composition and is only absorbed during the first 3 hours of sleep. Although Compound K is known to have antidiabetic activity, the active ingredient is not yet fully identified. Compound K Enhances Insulin Secretion with Beneficial Metabolic Effects. Compound K has the ability to lower the plasma glucose level by stimulating insulin secretion and this action was presumably associated with an ATP-sensitive K+ channel.
