What Is HCA?

Hydroxy Citric Acid is a natural acid which is believed to inhibit the production of fatty acids form carbohydrates and which may help to suppress the appetite. Hydroxycitric acid (HCA) is a derivative of citric acid that is found in a variety of tropical plants including Garcinia cambogia and Hibiscus subdariffa. HCA have the ability for the modulation of lipid metabolism. HCA is an ingredient in some weight loss products and dietary supplements. HCA supplementation could reduce the conversion of carbohydrate to fat and increase glycogen storage in the liver, facilitating weight loss, and enhancing endurance capacity. However, research on the effects of HCA on human weight loss or physical performance is inconclusive. HCA helps the body to use existing body fat for energy during prolonged exercise. Hydroxycitric acid (HCA) also has the ability to reduce appetite by raising the amount of serotonin(neurotransmitter affect appetite control).
